While new Polish government is yet to present its energy and climate priorities it seems they will be key to their agenda- due to the both short term (energy prices, security of supply) and longer term related challenges (energy transition). Poland might also seek to engage more on the EU level in these topics, especially during its Council Presidency in 2025. In this closed door event, we will focus on the energy & climate priorities of the new Polish government, especially their EU dimension. We aim to exchange with policymakers and experts from Warsaw and Brussels, including representatives of the Polish government, to kick off the discussion.
Our focus will be on several key aspects. We will delve into the energy and climate topics that are on top of Poland's domestic agenda and those concerning the EU, particularly with the new EU Commission while exploring Poland's alignment with the EU Commission's vision. Additionally, we aim to focus on how Poland, including during its presidency, can contribute to shaping and implementing EU energy & climate agenda and vice versa, as well as the ways EU / EU Commission could contribute to the implementation of Polish energy & climate goals.
