Energy market developments in the Nordic countries
This event covered energy market developments in the Nordic countries. It took place as part of our ongoing “Energy and Climate Exchange series 2012: member states energy market developments.” This series aims to facilitate exchange on the separate developments in different member state electricity markets. The Nordic markets are seen by many as an example of a functioning electricity market with competitive prices, low emissions and consumer choice. We discussed what we might learn from this example, but particularly focused on how developments in these market(s) might impact the goal of a single EU electricity market.
Three panelists from academia, regulatory authorities and industry gave presentations and afterwards engaged in a debate with the public.
