Robert Kroplewski

Plenipotentiary of the Minister of Digitization for the Information Society, Ministry of Digital Affairs, Poland,

Legal counsel; since 1994 his specialized practice has revolved around convergence and electronic media and social communication tools. He is also a specialist on new media, information society, interactivity in social communication, privacy protection and the right to information, as well as media and telecommunications market’s regulation and deregulation.

Law & Administration graduate at the University of Gdańsk; he possesses the postgraduate degrees from the Jagiellonian University’s Intellectual Property Institute and the Competition Protection, Industrial Property and Computer Law Studies. Adjudicator at the Court of Arbitration of the Polish Chamber of Information Technology and Telecommunications and the Arbitral Tribunal of Poland’s National Chamber of Commerce. Since 2000 Mr. Kroplewski has been running his own legal firm Kroplewski.com. In 2004-2006 he was the Head of Legal Department of Poland’s National Broadcasting Council. Between 2011 and 2016 he was the Head of Legal Office of Telewizja Polska S.A., Poland’s national TV broadcaster. Since 2006 he has been an expert on media and new technologies at the Sobieski Institute. In 2006-2011 he also served as expert for the Head of the Office of Electronic Communications, the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, and the Parliamentary Committee of Culture and Social Communication.

He is a member of High Level Expert Group on Artificial Intelligence for UE, and also a member of expert group AIGO - Artificial Intelligence Group on OECD.
