Intellectual property for growth in digital markets

On 28 March Bruegel and the Intellectual Property Office of the UK organised a seminar to discuss the role of IP in digital markets.

Opportunities for growth in technology and content, and the specific example of copyright levies as a barrier to growth in the single market were debated.

Ian Hargreaves, author of a recent UK Review set the scene on the relationship between creative industry innovation and growth, internet development and IP. Martin Kretschmer followed with a presentation about copyright levies as a barrier in the single market for creative innovation.
