Bruegel Senior Fellow

Debora Revoltella is Senior Fellow at Bruegel, focusing on macroeconomic policy and European governance.

Her work spans a wide range of topics including European competitiveness, economic security and strategic autonomy, European Union-Asia relations and artificial intelligence. 

Previously, Debora was Chief Economist and Director of the Economics Department of the European Investment Bank (EIB), where she worked for over 15 years. At EIB, she led the work of flagship publications such as the EIB Investment Report and Investment Survey, country risk and impact assessments, and contributed to the Draghi Report. Debora has substantial private sector experience, with previous roles including Chief Economist and Head of Strategy for CESEE in UniCredit and Bank Austria. Debora holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Ancona, Italy. She is also a member of multiple steering groups and committees, including the Vienna Initiative Steering Committees, the CEPR European Economic Policy Research Policy Network, SUERF and the Euro 50 Group. She also chairs the Chief Economists meeting, bringing together members from the public and private sectors.
