Dr. Carel Maske is Assistant General Counsel with Microsoft in Brussels. In this role, he is covering competition and regulatory compliance matters in the EMEA region. This includes competition related counseling, regulatory compliance, as well as managing antitrust-related investigations and litigation. Carel Maske develops and implements compliance programs and provides antitrust trainings for the legal department and the business. Before moving to Microsoft, he had practiced competition law with Latham & Watkins in Brussels and Frankfurt and with Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in Berlin. His expertise extends to unilateral conduct, IP and antitrust, vertical and horizontal cooperations, merger control proceedings, and compliance with the Digital Markets Act.
