Marc Vielle

Marc Vielle is an economist interested in climate change and energy policies. Marc obtained a PhD in economics from the University Panthéon-Sorbonne (Paris). He is currently researcher at the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne. In the past, he holds several positions as an economist or a researcher at the University Panthéon-Sorbonne, the Ecole Centrale de Paris, the French Atomic Energy Agency and the University of Toulouse I. His main background relies on economic modelling applied to climate and energy issues. He has built and participated in the development of several models like Hermès-France, GEM-E3, PRIMES. Since 20 years, he works on the Computable General Equilibrium model GEMINI-E3. As an expert, he was involved in several International and National projects on policies against climate change and he has consulted a number of public and private organisations. He has over 40 publications in learned journals (with 60+ co-authors). His current research focuses on the Swiss climate policy, the economic impacts of climate change, the Paris Agreement, and the European climate policy.
