Former Permanent Secretary, UK Treasury
Tom Scholar was the Permanent Secretary to the UK Treasury from July 2016 to September 2022. Before that (2013-16) he was the UK Prime Minister's Adviser on European and Global Issues, and the UK's G7, G20 and EU Sherpa.

2007 - 2008 Chief of Staff and Principal Private Secretary to the Prime Minister
2001 - 2007 Executive Director of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, and Minister (Economic) at the British Embassy in Washington DC
From 1992 to 2001 Tom held a number of positions at HM Treasury, including Principal Private Secretary to the Chancellor of the Exchequer (1998 to 2001).
