Svetlana is Associated Director at VVA Brussels.
She is a lawyer with ample experience in the field of European law and in project and programme management. She combines hands-on and theoretical knowledge acquired though a LL.M degree and extensive practice. She is deeply familiar with the functioning of the European Union institutions and EU policy-making processes.
Her professional interests are broad and cover Human Rights, Civil and Environmental law. Her project management skills include the planning, procurement and execution of projects with public and private clients, overseeing of the deliverables, quality control, client orientation and conflict resolution.
For over 10 years Svetlana has occupied senior positions in the public administration, including the Bulgarian Ministry of Justice and the European Commission. Earlier she was a practicing attorney and her expertise areas were civil and commercial matters; contractual and non-contractual obligations and insolvency proceedings.
Svetlana’s mother tongue is Bulgarian. She speaks English fluently and has a good command of French and Russian.
