Steven Ying

Mr Steven Ying is the founding Managing Partner of High Impact Capital Advisors Ltd., an impact investment advisory firm dedicated to making thoughtful and effective investments that generate attractive financial returns alongside substantial social and environmental impacts. 

With BS and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering and an MBA in Finance, all from New York University, Steven has worked in the private sector for more than 25 years, first working as a research scientist at IBM in upstate New York from 1988 to 1996. After business school, Steven worked for McKinsey & Co as a management consultant in New York and Hong Kong from 1996 to 2000, advising multinational corporations on business strategies. After that, as a Managing Director of Cisco Systems from 2000 to 2006, Steven was responsible for its Asia Pacific telecom businesses. Subsequently, he was with Microsoft from 2006 to 2010 as the General Manager of the Unlimited Potential Group for the Greater China region.
