Professor LU Xiankun is former senior trade diplomat of China and now Managing Director of LEDECO Geneva. He is member of the High-Level Board of Experts on the Future of Global Trade Governance by Bertelsmann Stiftung, Senior Advisor of Shanghai WTO Affairs Consulting Centre, Member of the Committee of Senior Advisors of “China OBOR 100”, and Senior Director of WFSGI. He is also the co-organizer, of the Friends of Multilateralism Group (FMG). Professor LU holds positions at universities including China Society for WTO Studies (CWTO), University of International Business and Economics of China (UIBE), Wuhan University of China (WHU) and Sussex University. Professor LU has held several positions with the Chinese Government including at the Permanent Mission of China to the WTO, the Ministry of Commerce of China (MOFCOM), the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation (MOFTEC), Permanent Mission of China to the EU.
This session at the WTO Public Forum, in Geneva, will discuss a proposal for the WTO to accommodate China better while retaining its priciples.
