Xavier Jaravel

Professor of Economics, London School of Economics

Xavier Jaravel is a Professor of Economics at the London School of Economics and the chairman of the French Council of Economic Analysis. His research focuses on inclusive growth, innovation, inflation, international trade and inequality. His work 
has been published in various journals, including the American Economic Review, the Quarterly Journal of Economics and the Review of Economic Studies. He holds a PhD from Harvard University. In 2021, he received the Best Young Economist Award from Le Monde and the Cercle des Économistes, and in 2023, the Economics Book Prize for Marie Curie Lives in Morbihan: Democratizing Innovation. In 2024, he was the most cited academic economist in the world whose first publication dates from the last ten years, according to the IDEAS/RePEc ranking.
