Peter Conti-Brown is the Class of 1965 Associate Professor of Financial Regulation at The Wharton School. A leading expert on banking, central banking, and financial regulation, he is the author or co-author of The Power and Independence of the Federal Reserve (2016), Private Finance, Public Power: A History of Bank Supervision in America (2025) and dozens of academic articles on these subjects. He also writes the popular Substack, PCB Central, and is frequently quoted in major news outlets throughout the world.
At Wharton, Professor Conti-Brown teaches topics in financial history, financial regulation, and business ethics and leadership. He holds degrees from Harvard, Stanford Law, and a Ph.D. in history from Princeton. He and his wife Nikki are the parents of four children.
