Paolo Pasimeni

Dr. Paolo Pasimeni is an economist, specialised in international macroeconomics, with experience in research and policy making. His main field of expertise is the macroeconomic analysis of the Single Market and of the economic and monetary union (EMU). Expert on monetary, fiscal and structural policies, he has been working on the proposals for EMU reform, in particular on the conception of a fiscal capacity, on labour market, as well as on the conception of the EU budget and on the integration within the Single Market. In the past twenty years, he has held various positions in the European Commission, he was the Deputy Chief Economist of the Directorate-General for Internal Market and Industry, and currently he is the Chief Economist of the Directorate General for Research and Innovation. He is also a Senior Associate at the Brussels School of Governance of the VUB.
