Martin Schoonbroodt

Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer, Probiotic Group

Martin Schoonbroodt is a Luxembourg-based entrepreneur and impact-driven business leader, Co‑Founder and Chief Commercial Officer of Probiotic Group, a microbiology-based biotechnology company pioneering probiotic cleaning and care solutions. His career illustrates how a strong entrepreneurial mindset, coupled with systems thinking and impact methodologies, can transform a personal conviction about health and ecology into a fast-growing industrial venture.

Originally trained as an IT engineer and consultant, Martin redirected his career after questioning the long‑term consequences of conventional hygiene protocols on microbial resistance and health. This pivot led him to co-create Probiotic Group in Luxembourg, positioning himself at the crossroads of biotechnology, industrial-scale product development and sustainable innovation.

As Co‑Founder and CCO, Martin has helped build Probiotic Group from an early-stage R&D project into a company employing around two dozen people between production and research sites in Luxembourg. The company develops and manufactures probiotic-based cleaning, animal care and cosmetic solutions that aim to protect human, animal and environmental health, in close collaboration with institutions such as LIST and the University of Luxembourg. The company has now 23 FTE resources working on microbial solutions.

Martin’s entrepreneurial mindset is characterized by challenging established hygiene practices and bringing a disruptive, microbiome-centric model into highly regulated markets. He applies impact-oriented methodologies by aligning growth with measurable ecological and health outcomes, embedding circular-economy principles and long-term microbiome stewardship into the company’s business model and partnerships with large industrial players.

Under his commercial leadership, Probiotic Group has expanded from its base in northern Luxembourg toward the wider European Union and international markets such as USA, positioning its technology as a credible “next generation” alternative to traditional chemical cleaners and care solutions. Martin actively leverages the Luxembourg innovation and cleantech ecosystem, industry federations and quality labels such as “Made in Luxembourg” to scale an impact business that stays rooted in its founding values of ecology, health and scientific rigor.
