Manuel Baritaud

Manuel Baritaud joined the IEA in 2011 as Senior Energy Analyst in the Gas Coal and Power Markets Division, where he leads the Agency’s work on electricity markets and policy developments, with a special focus on market design, supply security issues, as well as the implications of climate policy for electricity systems. Before joining the IEA, Manuel worked in the private sector as an economist in the Corporate Strategy Department at AREVA. Before that, he was in charge of the regulation of transmission and distribution network tariffs at the French Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE). Manuel is an economist and an engineer. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the Paris School of Mines and a Masters degree from the University of Paris, Dauphine.
