Julia Reinaud
Senior Director, Breakthrough Energy
Julia has over 20 years of experience in the energy and climate field, leading international initiatives that integrate sustainability and innovation into policy and business. Julia joined Breakthrough Energy in 2018 where, among other responsibilities, she helped establish key partnerships with the European Commission, European Investment Bank, including the Breakthrough Energy Ventures Europe, a €100 million fund supporting leading European clean energy entrepreneurs and the EU–Catalyst partnership, which aims to mobilise up to €820 million between 2022 and 2026 to accelerate the deployment and commercialisation of climate technologies. She also contributed to a similar initiative with the UK Government.
Previously, she held leadership roles at the European Climate Foundation, ClimateWorks and the Institute for Industrial Productivity, and began her career at the International Energy Agency. She has worked internationally with projects in Europe, China, India and the US.
Julia holds a PhD with distinction in Economics and Industrial Strategy from University Paris Dauphine.
Julia sits on the board of Mission Possible Partnership and is a member of the Mission Innovation Technical Advisory Group.
