Jeanette Schwamberger
State Secretary, Federal Ministry of Finance, Germany
Jeanette Schwamberger is State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Finance. She oversees European policy, international financial policy as well as financial market policy. She was appointed by the Federal Minister of Finance, Mr Lars Klingbeil, in May 2025.
Her responsibilities include serving as the Deputy of the German Minister of Finance at the G7, the G20 and the IMF. She is Alternate Governor of the EBRD as well as a member of the Economic and Financial Committee of the European Union (EFC) and the Financial Stability Board (FSB).
At the national level, Schwamberger is Chair of the Financial Stability Committee (Ausschuss für Finanzstabilität) and a member of the Stock Market Expert Commission (Börsensachverständigen-kommission) at the Federal Ministry of Finance.
Schwamberger is a trained economist and started her public service career at the Federal Ministry of Finance in 2003. Most recently she served as Head of the Office of the Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz and as Head of the directorate for planning and strategy and the Minister’s office at the Federal Ministry of Finance.
