Holger Görg
Director, Research Group "International Trade and Investment", Kiel Institute for the World Economy
Holger Görg is the RETHINK-GSC Scientific Lead. He is Professor of International Economics at the University of Kiel and Director of the Research Centre 'International Trade and Investment' at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy. From 2021 to 2023, he was Acting President of the institute.
Before joining Kiel he was on the staff at the University of Nottingham, the University of Ulster at Jordanstown and University College Cork. He completed a Ph.D. in Economics at Trinity College Dublin.
His research focuses in particular on the activities of firms in global supply chains. Prof. Görg has also worked as Consultant for, among others, The World Bank, European Commission, UNIDO, UN Economic Commissions for Europe and Africa, and various governments.
