Hai Zhao

Hai Zhao is a research fellow at the Institute of World Economics and Politics, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (IWEP-CASS). Hai Zhao holds a PhD in international history from the University of Chicago and a master in Asia-Pacific Studies from Peking University. He studied at the Johns Hopkins University -Nanjing University Center for Chinese and American Studies. Dr. Zhao worked at various think thanks in China and the United States. Before joining the IWEP-CASS, he was a research fellow at the National Strategy Institute at Tsinghua University (NSI). His main research interests are Sino-US strategic relations, geopolitics in East Asia and the development of the Belt and Road Initiative.
