Goetz von Peter is Acting Head of the International Banking and Financial Statistics group at the Bank for International Settlements (BIS). The group compiles the BIS international financial statistics, supports users and conducts research in international finance. Since joining the BIS in 2004, Goetz worked in various research groups and for the Committee on the Global Financial System. He has written on international finance, global banking, financial centres, crises, interbank networks, and disaster (re)insurance. He is also a regular author for the BIS Quarterly Review. Goetz holds a BSc and MSc from the London School of Economics, and a PhD in economics from Columbia University.
