Franziska Brantner

Parliamentary State Secretary, Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, Germany

First elected to the Deutscher Bundestag in 2013, Dr. Franziska Brantner has served as the member of parliament for her constituency in Heidelberg ever since. From 2013 to 2017, she headed the Subcommittee for the Prevention of Civil Crises. Between 2017 and 2021, she served as spokesperson for the Green Party on European Affairs and was the caucus' parliamentary whip. In December 2021, she was named Parliamentary State Secretary for European affairs, trade policy, and digitization at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action.

Prior to her mandate in the Deutscher Bundestag, Dr. Brantner was a member of the European Parliament. Her PhD in international relations is from the University of Mannheim, having studied at SciencesPo Paris and Columbia University before.
