Caroline Mehigan

Head of EU & International Unit, Central Bank of Ireland

Caroline is currently the Head of the EU & International (EUI) Unit at the Central Bank. She is responsible for the development and implementation of the Central Banks EUI strategy; co-ordination of its participation in EU and International policy organisations; and its international relations function. Caroline previously worked in the International Financial Division, focused on introducing macroprudential policy for property funds. Prior to that role, she was an advisor to the Deputy Governor of Central Banking.

Prior to joining the Bank, Caroline worked at the OECD in Paris, where she worked on cross border capital movements and capital account liberalisation as well as FDI and investment topics. She holds a PhD in Economics from Trinity College Dublin. Her economic research focuses on international capital flows and cross border policies.
