Anne Fort

Deputy Head of Cabinet, European Commission, Cabinet Kubilius

Anne Fort is Deputy Head of Cabinet of Commissioner Kubilius who is responsible for defence and space. Before taking up this responsibility, Anne was Head of Unit at the Directorate-General for Defence Industry and Space (DG DEFIS) at the European Commission. She was responsible for the Defence Industrial Policy. Before that, Anne worked for 4 years on defence industry matters as Deputy Head of Unit and Team leader at the European Commission’s Directorate General for Enterprise and Industry. She worked in particular on the 2016 European Defence Action Plan, the European Defence Industrial Development Programme (EDIDP), the European Defence Fund (EDF), the instrument for the reinforcement of the European defence industry through common procurement (EDIRPA), the Act on Support of Ammunition Production (ASAP) and the European Defence Industry Programme (EDIP).

Anne studied law in France and Germany and also holds a Master degree from the College of Europe in Natolin. She joined the European Commission in 1998, where she held various positions in the Directorate-General for Competition. She also worked for two years at the Directorate-General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries in the international unit. In August 2008, she moved to Singapore for 5 years where she taught courses on the European Union at the National University of Singapore.

Before joining the European Commission in 1998, Anne worked with Price Waterhouse Coopers in the EU law department.
