Anne Bucher
Anne Bucher is a Non-resident Fellow at Bruegel. She specialises in European governance and health.
Her research covers macroeconomic forecast and models, governance of the euro area and structural reforms, the digital economy, EU tax policy, structural funds, evaluation of employment policies, enlargement and development aid, and health.
She speaks English and French.
Previously, she was Director General for Health and Food Safety at the European Commission, prior to which she was the Chair of the Regulatory Scrutiny Board and the Director for competitiveness and structural reform. Before working in the Commission, she was a Policy Officer for OFCE (Observatoire Français des Conjonctures Economiques). She holds a PhD in Macroeconomics from the École des Hautes Etudes.
