Alexander Roth
Alexander Roth is an Affiliate Fellow at Bruegel. He specialises in energy and climate policy.
His work focuses on the decarbonisation of the European energy system. Previously, he worked on the efficient integration of renewable energies and power‑market flexibility. He has co‑authored multiple peer‑reviewed publications, applying both numerical modelling and empirical analysis to these topics.
He speaks English, German and Italian.
He is also a part-time research associate at the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW Berlin). Previously, he was a post‑doctoral researcher at KU Leuven and DIW Berlin. He holds a PhD in Economics from Technische Universität Berlin and completed studies in Economics in Mannheim and Brussels.
