Allan Wright

Manager of the Research Department, Central Bank of The Bahamas

Allan Wright is the Manager of the Research Department of the Central Bank of The Bahamas, where he oversees the production and publication of economic analysis and statistical reports. He is responsible for contributing to the formulation of economic policies, grounded in economic forecasting, with emphasis on the monetary and financial sector, fiscal matters, and the payments system.  As a member of the Bank’s senior management team, he is part of the key decision making body, and represents the Bank on domestic and international technical committees. Prior to joining the Central Bank, Allan worked as a Senior Economist at the Inter-American Development Bank and spent two (2) years as a Researcher at the Center for Monetary Studies in Latin America (CEMLA). As a skilled econometrician with extensive skills in macro-structural modelling, Allan has authored a plethora of quantitative and qualitative economic studies on various topics, which have been published in regional and international journals. His work has included a strong focus on public debt, fiscal sustainability, monetary and macroprudential policies, and more recently, financial inclusion and climate change.

Allan holds a PhD in Economics from the University of the West Indies.
