Massimo Romano

Head of Group Integrated Reporting, Generali

Massimo is an “evangelist” of Integrated thinking and reporting. His mantra is “We measure what We treasure”.

He joined Generali in 1996 and he has evolved his role in the financial reporting area starting as project manager of the IAS implementation in Generali Group back in 2005. In the last 15 years he leaded many strategic transformation programs for the Group CFO finance platform (p.e. Solvency II Pillar III, Non Financial Reporting Directive, IFRS 17/9).

Today Massimo is Head of Group Integrated Reporting, responsible for the Generali Group Management Commentary, included the non-financial statement. He is leading the Sustainability Integrated Reporting project which aims to manage the implementation of the EU Taxonomy and the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive in the Generali Group.

He is part of the Adjunct Faculty of MIB Trieste School of Management (Italy) in “Integrated Reporting and Thinking”. Massimo is also active in some international and Italian working groups on corporate reporting issues.

In 1994 Massimo graduated summa cum laude in Economics from Trieste University (Italy) and he qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1996.

Married with three children.
