Louise Skouby

Head of Division for International Economics, Ministry of Finance, Denmark

Louise Skouby has her background as an Economist in the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Danish Ministry of Economic Affairs and Interior as well as National Expert in the European Commission (DG ECOFIN). She holds a master’s degree in Economics from Copenhagen University (2002-2008) and advanced studies at Cornell University (2006-2007). From 2008 to 2011, she was working as Head of Section in the Macroeconomic Policy Centre in the Danish Ministry of Finance before she was seconded as a National Expert to the European Commission, DG-ECOFIN, focusing on the Economies of the Member States. She returned to Denmark in 2013 to become Special Advisor on the Danish Economy in the Danish Ministry of Economic Affairs and Interior. From 2014 to 2020, she was Special and Senior Advisor in Centre for Competition, State-owned enterprises and Utilities in the Danish Ministry of Finance. Since 2020, she has been Head of Division on International Economics in the Danish Ministry of Finance where she among other things is responsible for the international corporation, including the Economic coordination and fiscal policy in the EU (Stability and Growth Pact, Fical Compact, etc.) and European coordination on Structural Policies, Tax policy, Financial regulation as well as the work on the Recovery and Resilience Facility
