Frederic de Courtois

Frédéric de Courtois joined Generali in 2016 as CEO Global Business Lines & International.

Frédéric de Courtois is a graduate of Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications de Paris and Institut des Actuaires and the Collège des Ingenieurs in Engineering and Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées in Management.

He began his career with CGI Informatique in 1990, before moving to UAP in 1993, which was later merged with AXA in 1996, working within the Finance Department before moving to the Group Controlling Department in 1997.

In 2000/2001, he became Vice President of AXA Conseil, a sales channel with 1500 employees and coordinated cross-functional projects.

He was later, in 2001, to become Deputy CEO of AXA Re, an Axa company dedicated to Reinsurance and Capital Risk, heading the Finance, Legal and Claims areas.

In 2003, Frédéric became Chief Financial Officer for AXA Japan before becoming Deputy Chief Executive Officer of AXA Life Japan, with responsibility for Finance, Marketing and Offer.

He was appointed Chief Executive officer of AXA Japan & Asia Pacific P&C, in 2006.

In 2007, Frédéric returned to Europe where he became CEO of AXA MPS Assicurazioni Vita and Danni and Chairman of AXA MPS Financial. He was to become Chief Executive Officer for AXA Assicurazioni in July 2013 and later assumed responsibility for their Greek and Serbian markets.

He also held the position of board member in AXA Life and Savings board and sponsored AXA’s global business savings and Bancassurance channel.

In September 2016, he joined the Generali Group as Chief Executive Officer of Global Business Lines & International with responsibility for their Global Business Lines (Europ Assistance, Generali Employee Benefits, Global Corporate & Commercial and Generali Global Health), the EMEA, Asia and Americas regions and the Group’s Bancassurance.

In July 2018, Frédéric de Courtois was appointed General Manager of Assicurazioni Generali, overseeing the following Group functions: Insurance, Finance, Investor Relations, M&A, Strategy & Business Development, Operations, Marketing. In such capacity, Frédéric is in charge of designing the Group Strategy and overseeing its implementation by steering, controlling and supporting the Group companies.
