Jukka Savolainen

Jukka Savolainen is Director of Community of Interest “Vulnerabilities and Resilience” at European Centre of Excellence for Countering Hybrid Threats. Savolainen is a general staff officer of the Finnish Coast Guard and served as the Commander West Finland Coast Guard District from 2012 to 2017. His international experience includes service as the Head of Mission in EU Police Mission in Afghanistan from 2010 to 2012. The years 2002-2006 Savolainen spent in Brussels first working as a counsellor for border security at the Finnish Permanent Representation to the EU and later as a national expert at DG HOME.
