The new competition rules for technology transfer agreements

This event introduced a new seminar series in which practitioners and academics discussed economic insights relating to high-profile issues in the competition policy agenda.

The European Commission has just opened the public discussion on the new competition rules for technology transfer agreements i.e. contracts through which a licensor permits a licensee to exploit its patents, know-how or software for the production of goods and services. The current rules are to expire in April 2014. The Commission has now drafted a proposal for a revised framework and is now seeking for inputs from the civil society: citizens, public authorities, organizations and the business community are invited to express their views an contribute to the design of the new framework (more info here).

During this lunch seminar, distinguished speakers from DG Competition and academia introduced the Commission's initiative and discussed its economic insights.
