The ESRB and the excessive imbalance procedure: overlap, synergies and conflict?

During this event, Bruegel brought together an audience of senior policy makers, MEPs, private sector and civil society to discuss how the ESRB and the EIP will interact, to what extent the EIP will duplicate the ESRB and whether the EIP could be used to increase the follow-up to ESRB recommendations. Will the new governance framework manage to prevent macroeconomic imbalances and harmful real estate booms?

The event was chaired by Guntram Wolff (Research Fellow at Bruegel and author of the Column ESRB should act on sovereign risk)

Among the participants were Anne Bucher and Declan Costello (Director/HoU DG ECFIN, European Commission), Stéphane Rottier (Bank of Beligum), Elisa Ferreira (European Parliament), Francesco Mazzaferro (Head of ESRB secretariat), André Sapir (vice chair of ESRB scientific advisory council and Bruegel).
