One year after the Arab Spring - supporting trade and investment with North Africa
This breakfast seminar focused on supporting trade and investment with North Africa one year after the Arab Spring. The presentation by Inger Andersen was followed by comments by André Sapir and an open discussion chaired by Jean Pisani-Ferry.
The Arab Awakening stirred up the near-dormant Barcelona process from the Spring of 2011. Integration between the Arab world and the European Union now holds out great economic promise, but also formidable challenges. Where is it going, and what can partnerships between Arab countries, the EU, and international organizations such as the World Bank, do to help? - this was the central question around which the debate was woven.
