Growth and imbalances in the euro area

A revival of growth is key to reversing the vicious cycle of poor confidence, fiscal weakness and bank vulnerability in the euro area. This event discussed policy measures both on the supply and demand side needed to anchor medium term growth prospects and to support growth in the interim. It looked at external imbalances in the euro area and the needed adjustments to unwind the imbalances and investigated whether the "growth actions" would also help close external imbalances.
