Green, safe, cheap. Where next for EU energy policy?

At this roundtable, a new CER report on European energy policy was discussed. A dozen of Europe’s leading energy experts, as well as Commissioners Günther Oettinger and Connie Hedegaard, contributed their insights, views and recommendations on issues ranging from renewables policy to infrastructure to this report.

Philip Lowe, Director General for energy at the European Commission, opened the roundtable. This was followed by a panel discussion with Georg Zachmann (Bruegel), Pernille Schiellerup (Institute for European Environmental Policy) and Christof van Agt (Clingendael) who have all contributed to the report. Fabien Roques, director for European power, at IHS CERA added highlights from CERA’s report Sound energy policy for Europe. Katinka Barysch (CER) chaired the question and answer session.
