Past Event
From crisis management to launching economic growth
What have been the most effective strategies in limiting the impact of the economic crisis in Europe? What challenges lie ahead? Bruegel's 10th anniversary event in Budapest will foster discussion of these important topics.
In the framework of our 10th anniversary celebrations, Bruegel is
organising a series of events in the capitals of our member states. These debates, talks and conferences will bring crucial European topics to audiences across the continent.
Over the past decades Europe has weathered multiple economic crises and found a way back to growth. This thus makes an appropriate topic for an event, hosted by the Hungarian Ministry of the National Economy, which marks three anniversaries: 10 years of Bruegel, 20 years of Hungarian OECD membership and 70 years of the Hungarian Forint.
There are many headwinds facing the European and global economies: Brexit, a slowdown in China and emerging markets, a potential interest rate increase in the USA and geopolitical instability. Analysis and evaluation of the effectiveness of recent strategies will help governments better prepare for future challenges.
This is an invitation-only event in Budapest.
