A new study has revealed that the global net social benefit of phasing out coal and transitioning to renewable energy could reach a staggering $85 trillion. Alissa M. Kleinnijenhuis, Visiting Scholar at Imperial College London Business School, will join us to discuss the implications of these findings, including how policymakers and business leaders can take advantage of this economic opportunity to accelerate the transition to renewable energy and mitigate the effects of climate change. She will also touch on how benefits are distributed across countries and how much public money is needed to finance the transition.
