Strategic transformation for Europe's growth: investing in resilience, innovation and competitiveness

Investment patterns across Europe remain uneven, with consequences for competitiveness and convergence. Europe’s growth model is being redefined — and energy is at the core of that transformation. Another issue is how once seen mainly as a cost and a vulnerability, energy now has to become a foundation for competitiveness, resilience, and sustainable growth. In addition, Europe faces a changing global landscape of geopolitical fragmentation, climate constraints, and rising competition.

At this event, held in Athens, the speakers discussed how industrial policy can promote business investment — including R&D — and how to ensure that capital flows translate into productivity growth rather than simply higher spending.
