The European Green Deal has set the stage for ambitious climate targets and transformative legislation. As the EU moves into the next institutional cycle, it must ensure the implementation of its climate plan domestically while advancing global green diplomacy and partnerships. This event introduced our latest policy brief, which examines the EU’s current approach to its global green agenda and the challenges of balancing decarbonisation, competitiveness, and strategic autonomy. We discussed the elements that should underpin the EU’s green geoeconomic approach going forward to support global decarbonisation efforts and strengthen the EU's strategic position in the evolving global context.
