Mobilising capital for Europe’s green transition: Where do we stand?

Successful green finance requires both funding the energy transition and making sure the European Union’s capital markets are fit for purpose. What do investors need? Why are non-EU asset managers such a large part of the market, and do their preferences line up with EU goals? How can Europe strengthen its venture capital markets to support its best and brightest young firms? This event, co-organized by Bruegel and the Jacques Delors Centre, took stock of public and private sector efforts to improve Europe’s financial environment. More than two years after the Letta Report called for a Savings and Investments union to help close Europe’s investment gap to finance the green transition and strengthen global competitiveness, where do we stand today?
