12:00-12:15

Deglobalisation, political polarisation, social unrest and increasing income inequality are rising in many parts of the world, leading in some cases to a questioning of the open-based multilateral system. In the face of these challenges Europe needs to consider how open it can remain without becoming too vulnerable to geopolitical volatility.

At this event the speakers addressed the EU’s competitiveness and the role of open strategic autonomy. They discussed how a more integrated Europe can be part of the solution, and how to boost our resilience through investments in technology and trade openness
