Bruegel and IIC are organising our first joint Annual Seminar in New Delhi. This one-and-a-half-day closed-door workshop will focus on key aspects of India-EU relations and of the international order that are of common concern: trade, climate governance and the digital economy

This event will bring together leading experts, policymakers, and thinkers from India and the European Union for an in-depth discussion on key global issues. Hosted by the India International Centre (IIC) in New Delhi, the event will focus on three critical themes: international trade in an era of contested geopolitics, international climate governance post-COP29, and the evolving digital economy and artificial intelligence.

Participants will explore how India and the EU can collaborate to address pressing challenges in global trade, sustainability, and technological innovation. Discussions will also delve into strategies for enhancing economic cooperation, climate action, and fostering safe and ethical AI development.

Key sessions will include contributions from prominent figures such as India’s External Affairs Minister, Dr. S. Jaishankar, and Bruegel’s Chairman, Erkki Liikanen. The seminar will conclude with insights from Niti Aayog Chairman, Suman Bery, and the Deputy Head of the EU Delegation to India, Ewa Suwara. This event offers a unique opportunity to shape the India-EU partnership in response to the most urgent global priorities.
