For more than half a century, the global financial system has been underpinned by common infrastructure and the central role of the US dollar. Rapid changes in the geopolitical and technological environment have prompted concerns about fragmentation along boundaries between several power blocks, while new technology is altering the dynamics of financial scale. Is a reversal of global financial integration already happening?
