At this event we analysed the growing role of Chinese investment in Europe’s electric vehicle and battery sectors. We assessed both opportunities and strategic risks, and set out a policy framework for conditional engagement - combining incentives with defensive tools to protect and strengthen the EU’s industrial base. The discussion was be based on the findings of a forthcoming Bruegel policy brief.
