The automotive industry is an important component of the EU economy, as it represents 4 percent of the EU’s GDP and as it employs about 8 million people. It also has an important multiplier effect on the economy, being important for both upstream and downstream industries. Major changes – such as electrification and digitalisation – are likely to affect the industry in the coming years and radically transform the automotive sector.
This workshop aims to stimulate a discussion on these important evolutions. The discussion will be led by Bruegel fellows Reinhilde Veugelers and Simone Tagliapietra.
This is a closed door workshop, open to Bruegel members and selected invitees
