AEEF at a glance
The Asia Europe Economic Forum (AEEF) was established in 2006 as a high level forum for in-depth research-based exchanges on global issues between Asian and European policy makers and experts. In 2018 the AEEF partners were invited by Bruegel, the Brussels-based economics think-tank, to hold the forum as an official side-event of the 12th Summit of the Asia Europe Meeting (ASEM12) on 17-18 October in Brussels, Belgium. This year, the AEEF will be hosted by Bertelsmann Stiftung on 28-29 November, 2019 in Berlin, Germany, and it will focus on “EU-Asia trade and investment connectivity”.
The event is organised by this year’s local host, Bertelsmann Stiftung, together with the Asian Development Bank Institute, Korea Institute for International Economic Policy (KIEP) and Shanghai Jiaotong University on the Asian side; Bruegel and CEPII on the European side, with the contribution of the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) in Singapore.
