Roundtable Discussion

8:45-9:30

Since the publication of the landmark Draghi report, European competitiveness has dominated the Brussels policy agenda, as policymakers seek to close the innovation and productivity gap with the US and China. At the heart of this debate lies EU AI adoption, particularly among European enterprises. As EU policymakers seek to transform the bloc into an "AI continent", there is a growing need to match the wealth of quantitative evidence on adoption rates and labour market impacts with practical insights from businesses deploying these tools and observing their effects on productivity, skills and workforce organisation.

This closed-door discussion will bring together EU policymakers, economists and industry leaders to discuss the practical realities of enterprise AI adoption in Europe, including real world adoption stories, emerging EU trends and the implications for European competitiveness. Aaron Ronnie Chatterji, OpenAI’s Chief Economist, will open the discussion, sharing OpenAI’s macroeconomic analysis alongside his own insights from engaging with businesses deploying AI at scale.

This is an invitation-only event, open only to Bruegel Members and selected invitees.
