Sophie Vermeille

Founder of Droit et Croissance/Rules for Growth Institute, Sophie Vermeille is a corporate and restructuring attorney with the Paris courts.

Speaker and researcher with the legal economic laboratory at the University of Paris II, Pantheon-Assas, her research chiefly concerns the economy of insolvencies. She has been invited to teach bankruptcy law in various Parisian establishments, including the Sciences Po Law School and the Hautes Etudes Commerciales (grande école for business and management studies) (HEC)). She has published numerous articles highlighting the deficiencies of French law in respect of bankruptcy from the point of view of an economic analysis of the law. She regularly participates in conferences on bankruptcy organized by industrial groups (INSOL International, TMA, etc.), regulatory bodies (IMF, the World Bank, Autorité des Marchés Financiers (French financial markets authority), Autorité de Contrôle Prudentiel et de Résolution (French prudential supervisory authority) as well as university seminars (University of Oxford, the European School, the Institute of Florence, the University of Frankfurt, etc.).

Sophie Vermeille holds a Magistère Juriste d’Affaires (Master’s in business law), the Diplôme de Juriste Conseil d’Entreprise (diploma of higher studies of legal management of business organizations) from University Paris II and an LLM from King’s College, London in business law.
