Sara Stefanini

Energy and Environment Reporter at Politico Europe,

Sara Stefanini is an energy reporter at POLITICO, based in Brussels. Before joining POLITICO, she was an editor and reporter at Interfax Energy in London, covering oil and gas news with a focus on supply and demand, trade and policy and regulation in Asia Pacific, and a reporter at ICIS Energy in London, covering European gas, power and emissions market pricing and news. Prior to moving to London, she worked as a freelance journalist in Mumbai, where she wrote about environmental issues such as deforestation in the city’s biggest national park, and in New York as a reporter for the Law360 newswire, which provides litigation, regulation and policy news for lawyers. Stefanini has a Master’s degree from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism in New York, and a Bachelor’s degree from Bucknell University in Pennsylvania. She is a classic third culture kid, born in New York to parents from Italy and Australia – with passports from all three countries – and grew up between the US and Italy, with a stint in Russia. When not writing about energy, she enjoys horse riding and travelling.
